Over 90 per cent of Al Jazeera Mubashir Misr Channel’s viewers supported prosecuting those involved in the massacre of protestors at Rabaa al-Adwiya and Nahda squares in Egypt last year following the release of Human Rights Watch report on 12 August.

The report specifically refers to the direct involvement of Egypt’s President Abdel Fattah Sisi and his Interior Minister Mohammed Ibrahim in the two massacres which claimed the lives of hundreds of Muslim Brotherhood supporters.

The Channel surveyed the opinion of 1,932 viewers last week, asking them “What do you want after the release of Human Rights Watch report condemning the Rabaa massacre?”

According to the poll results, 90.73 per cent of the respondents want to try those involved in the massacres, including those whose names were mentioned specifically in the report, while 4.35 per cent of the participants said they do not want anything and 2.54 per cent said they want alternatives to trials to absorb public outrage.

Meanwhile, 2.38 per cent of respondents choose other measures.
