3 Israeli soldiers arrested for leaking army secrets

Israeli military police have arrested three soldiers from a “highly confidential” unit belonging to the Military Intelligence Division, after suspecting them of wrongdoing and leaking information outside of the army.

Israel’s Channel 2 said yesterday that the arrests, which took place a few days ago, came following a lengthy investigation by the military police.

A military court has extended the detention of the officers until Sunday.

A source familiar with the investigation said: “At first glance, this case appears to be very serious, but the investigation is continuing, and there may be other arrests.”

Through their lawyer, the soldiers denied the accusations saying they have not committed any criminal offense.
