The throne of the Zionists is overthrowing ours

The popular Arab proverb “so and so is like a porcupine; their eyes lie but their ears tell the truth” has some truth to it, as it applied to the Arabs, especially those who are linked to the Israeli occupation through undercover relations, while they publically have an immoral relationship with the Palestinians. This is due to the fact that they remain silent over the most ominous, miserable, and humiliating danger of terrorism, which is represented by the Islamic State (ISIS) and instead plot against Hamas in Gaza and criticise it, claiming that Hamas is violating Israel based on false allegations and news from their Zionist officials. Moreover, they do not lift a finger to fight Israel even though they have witnessed how many people Israel has killed, how much land it seized, how many Palestinian youth they have arrested and imprisoned, and how many times extremists have desecrated our Al-Aqsa Mosque, beat worshippers, and prohibited Palestinians from praying in it. Therefore, they are just like a porcupine; they believe what their ears can hear but do not believe what their eyes can see.

According to the announcement made by the Higher Monitoring Committee inside the occupied Palestinian territories of 1948, this Wednesday will be a day of general mobilisation in order to defend Al-Aqsa Mosque and address the attempts to storm the mosque by extremist Jewish groups which now violate the mosque whenever they choose and attack worshippers, all the while being protected by the Israeli occupation forces. Meanwhile, all the Arabs are acting as if they were living in the Arctic, making no sound or taking no actions. Even the Palestinians outside the occupied territories have become cold, as if the cause does not concern them.

Some may say, and many have said that the time for war with Israel has gone and that it has become a major military force in the region, and that its borders are protected by its Arab neighbours. This is all true, but what should the Jerusalemites and those from Hebron who immediately flocked into Jerusalem and bought homes and shops in the city and lived there do? How can they alone stand up to the Israelis while they are unarmed and have nothing but their faith in God? We watch them expel the barbaric extremists while no nearby or far Arab government is raising its voice to threaten Israel.

Yesterday, the Israeli Minister of Public Security Yitzhak Aharonovich threatened to close Al-Aqsa Mosque and prevent Muslims from entering it under the pretext of repeated riots by the Arabs. He also accused those holding sit-ins at the mosque of resorting to help from members of Hamas. Forces from the Israeli army actually stormed the mosque in search of those they are calling “saboteurs” who are trying to make Molotov cocktails. Meanwhile, the right-wing extremist Deputy Speaker of the Knesset Moshe Feiglin decided to lead Zionist groups to storm the mosque and expel worshippers as well as celebrate the Jewish holiday of Sukkot, while the concerned Arab governments exercised political immorality, national humiliation and religious abandonment.

We absolutely cannot accept the state of political schizophrenia we are witnessing in the Arab discourse. We saw how quickly our Arab countries rushed to join the alliance against the Islamic State (ISIS), and before that, the hidden alliances against the terrorist Israeli war on Gaza and its people. However, we only heard a few small speeches issued by a ministerial official here or there, either condemning or denouncing the barbaric acts of the extremist Jews and occupation forces. These speeches were made reluctantly and diplomatically in order not to hurt the ego and pride of the occupation state, while the people are forced to accept the criminal Zionist scenes, as if they were scenes from a popular Turkish soap opera, like the soap operas that have caught the attention of tens of millions of Arabs, or scenes from the famous Spanish League football matches.

The Arab countries should re-align their compass to point to the truth. The greatest danger today is the ugly Israeli occupation, and we cannot accept silence in the face of what is happening in Palestine. The existence of the horrid Israeli state is one of the main reasons behind the tendency towards extremism in the Muslim world and is a natural result of our governments’ cold reactions to the occupation’s crimes. Therefore, the majority of Arabs and Muslims in the world believe that any country that supports Israel is an enemy by association. Meanwhile, Israel will celebrate the Jewish Sukkot (throne in Arabic) this week while feeling reassured that it will remain on its throne, which has overthrown the ancient Arab thrones.
