Clashes between angry Palestinian youths and Israeli police renewed on Thursday evening in several neighbourhoods of Jerusalem, Anadolu news agency said.
Anadolu reported eyewitnesses saying that the clashes erupted in Silwan, Al-Mukaber, Abu-Tur, Abu-Dis, Wadi Al-Joz, Al-Aizariyyah, Qalandia checkpoint and Al-Ram.
According to eyewitnesses, at least eight Palestinians were wounded at Qalandia Checkpoint and many suffered breathing problems because of tear gas fired by the Israeli army in Al-Aizariyyah, Abu-Dis and Wadi Al-Joz.
Meanwhile, 13 other Palestinian civilians were wounded when Israeli forces raided a tent where people were mourning a young person who was killed at his house by Israeli Special Forces. He was accused of trying to assassinate the extremist Jewish rabbi Yehuda Glick.
The Israeli police said in a statement reported by the Israeli Radio that an Israeli bus was hit by stones in Jerusalem and windows were smashed.
According to the statement, many Israeli police have been deployed across and around the Palestinian city of Jerusalem.
Tension in and around the holy city has been rising for days as Jewish extremist Israeli settlers and officials have increased their desecration of Al-Aqsa Mosque.
The state of tension in the city increased in wake of Glick’s assassination attempt as the Israeli police closed Al-Aqsa Mosque for Palestinian worshipers for a couple of hours and prevented all people less than 50 years old from entering.
