November 2, 2014 at 1:41 pm

Israeli Interior Minister Gideon Sa’ar has submitted a resignation letter to Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, Israeli Channel 1 reported Sunday.

According to local media reports, Sa’ar might join former welfare and social services minister Moshe Kahlon who is in the middle of the process of establishing a new party. The speculation came two months after Sa’ar announced that he intends to resign and temporarily retire from politics to focus on his family.

Gideon Sa’ar is a member of the Likud party, serving as a Knesset member since 2003. It is still unclear who will replace Sa’ar as the interior minister.
