Women protest against living conditions in Gaza

November 6, 2014 at 12:30 pm

Dozens of women, whose houses were demolished during Israel’s war on Gaza, staged a sit-in this morning demanding Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas move quickly and move the international community to stop stalling the reconstruction of Gaza.

The families, who are still living in schools, suffer severe hardship, especially in the winter. The demonstrators also called on the government to pay attention to Gaza and show interest in it and not just in media statements. They went on to complain about the limited levels of assistance and food provided.

They said they and their loved ones have been forced out of their houses in Shujaya and made homeless, forced to beg for food which is coming in limited supply.
