Egyptian security services raided the female branch of Al-Azhar University for the twelfth time since the start of the academic year and beat and arrested several students, spokesperson of Students Against Coup Movement Mahmoud Al-Azhari said.

Al-Zhari wrote on his Facebook page that the security services arrested seven female students and led them to the police department in Nasr City.

“What is going on inside Al-Azhar University, female branch, proves that Egypt is being ruled by armed gangs who have no consideration for the religious, ethical or social values,” he wrote.

He also said that the security services beat a female student in the face, on her head, kicked her in the stomach and pulled her from her hair. She was admitted to hospital unconscious and with bleeding in the womb.

The security services, Al-Zhari said, also beat another female student causing her major injuries. They chased many other students inside the university, he added.

He concluded his post saying that the violent acts of the security services would not affect the student protest movement.

“They have to know that their violations will pass without response,” he said stressing that the revolution would inevitably win in the end.
