Anonymous begin their electronic offensive for Al-Aqsa victory

A group of Palestinian hackers known as Anonymous hacked into several Israeli government sites today to show their support for the Palestinian people and to “stand in opposition to Israeli violations to Al-Aqsa”.

Anonymous announced their offensive plan and their attempt to target both Israeli civilian and government websites. Many official government sites are expected to crash within the next few days as a result of the online attack.

This is not the first time that Anonymous has hacked into Israeli websites to show their support for the Palestinian cause. The group conducted a similar attack during the latest Gaza offensive as well as releasing sensitive banking information pertaining to the Israeli government’s accounts last April.

At the time, Israeli officials described the cyber attack as “violent and unprecedented” because it coincided with the country’s latest assault on the Gaza Strip.
