Iranian official: Israel is a big obstacle ahead of nuclear talks

November 26, 2014 at 1:19 pm

“Israel is the biggest obstacle ahead of the nuclear talks,” Ali Saidi, the representative of the supreme leader of the Iranian Islamic Revolution, said yesterday.

The Anadolu Agency reported Saidi saying: “The Zionist lobby in the American Congress undermines all efforts being exerted to reach an agreement in this regard.”

The remarks of the Iranian official were first reported by the Iranian news agency IRNA. He was reported by IRNA as saying that Iran has two demands throughout the talks: the first regarding the enrichment level and the second is the lifting of the economic sanctions imposed on it.

IRNA reported him saying that the P5+1, which is heading the talks with Iran, has considered the strategies of the Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.

Saidi described the talks as “very complicated” so the Iranian side has to pay attention to that. “Both sides need to reach an agreement. The retention of the sanctions on Iran is inappropriate,” he said, noting that the US is facing an economic crisis.
