US to send 3,000 smart bombs to Israel

The US is set to send 3,000 new smart bombs, similar to those used against the Gaza Strip in the recent to Israel assault, Haaretz reported.

According to the Israeli newspaper, the new American bombs will include the J-Dam system which works operate with GPS technology to specify target locations.

The smart bombs are worth $82 million and are made by Boeing.

Israel does not pay for such weapon shipments, Palestinian newspaper Al-Resalah reported Haaretz saying, they are deducted from the annual financial aid America pays Tel Aviv since the Camp David Accords were signed.
