Erdogan opens the Palestinian Trade and Business expo in Istanbul

The Turkish President, Recep Tayyip Erdogan, opened the Palestinian Trade and Business Expo in Istanbul alongside the 30th ministerial meeting of the Standing Committee for Economic and Commercial Cooperation of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation held at the Istanbul Congress Centre, Anadolu news agency reported on Thursday.

Among those who participated in the opening were Deputy Prime Minister of Palestine HE Dr Mohamad Mustafa and President of the Islamic Development Bank Ahmed Mohammed Ali.

The conference was organised in cooperation with the Islamic Development Bank and the Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey. A joint statement issued by the organisers highlighted Mustafa stressing the need for investment in the vital sectors of Palestine’s economy, such as green energy, building materials, communication and information technology, as well as tourism.

Erdogan also opened Al-Quds Al-Sharif exhibition of historic photographs of the city of Jerusalem, documented by the Research Centre For Islamic History, Art and Culture. The exhibition features images of the different historical stages that the city has witnessed, many of which date back to the Ottoman era.
