December 6, 2014 at 2:17 pm

On Saturday, the Beni Suef Criminal Court is to start the proceedings of the trial of 93 Muslim Brotherhood (MB) leaders, including Supreme Guide Mohamed Badie.

The court is to look at the complaints filed against the MB leaders regarding charges of burning public facilities, including a school and a police station on August 14, 2013.

Senior MB leaders are included in the case; some of them were parliamentarians and university professors or famous doctors.

In addition, tens of them are over 50 or 60 years old. Mohamed Badie is over 70 years old and many of the other leaders are of the same age.

The indicted leaders are also facing charges of using gunfire and other weapons to terrorising people and damage the public properties. They are charged with setting up and affiliating themselves to a terrorist organisation.
