Fatah: 'No Israeli party has a peace plan'

December 15, 2014 at 12:42 pm

“No Israeli party has a peace plan,” Member of the Fatah Central Committee Mohammad Shtayyeh said yesterday ahead of the planned early Israeli elections.

After meeting a delegation from the municipal council of the US city of Boston in Ramallah, Shtayyeh said in a statement that the Israeli elections affect the Palestinians and their life.

“We want the Israeli elections to get a possible peace partner who is able to end the 1967 occupation,” Shtayyeh said, “but none of the Israeli parties has a peace plan.”

He reiterated that Israel is blocking the way towards the two-state solution throughout its daily practices.

“The [Palestinian] leadership is passing through a strategic change as it is going to the UN Security Council and is joining more international institutions, including the International Criminal Court,” he said.

Shtayyeh also spoke about the change in public opinion in Europe which is represented by the votes to recognise a Palestinian state. “All of this is considered a slap in the face of the Israeli policies,” he said.
