An Israeli delegation has arrived in Egyptian capital Cairo to discuss means of finding the remains of Israeli troops who went missing in earlier wars with Egypt, Cairo International Airport sources and Israel Radio said Thursday.

Egyptian intelligence officials received members of the Israeli delegation at the airport, an airport source said, adding that they planned to spend several days in Egypt.

The source noted that the Israeli delegation had consisted of five people who arrived in Cairo on board a Royal Jordanian Airlines plane coming from Amman.

Israel Radio, meanwhile, reported that delegation members were visiting Egypt for the first time since Egypt’s popular uprising in 2011.

According to the broadcaster, while in Cairo, delegation members will discuss means of locating the remains of 22 Israeli soldiers who went missing during the self-proclaimed Jewish state’s previous wars with Egypt.

The Egyptian government, for its part, has not issued a comment on the visit.
