Egyptian court sends students to prison

The Egyptian Criminal Court in Al-Mansoura has sentenced 20 Egyptian students to lengthy jail terms on charges related to anti-coup activities. Details of the exact charges were not provided by the local media.

The sentences appear to be particularly harsh, with eight of the students being sentenced to 15 years each. Three others were sent to prison for 10 years each, while seven were each sentenced to seven years. Of the remaining two, one received a five year sentence and the other three years.
