Leaked audio recording exposes a pact between Houthis and deposed President Salih

Al Jazeera News Channel has broadcasted a leaked recording that proves the existence of close and firm coordination between the Houthis in Yemen and deposed President Ali Abdullah Salih. This partly explains the recent events witnessed by the country leading to the seizure of the state by the force wielding Houthis.

According to the audio clip, which is a recording of a phone call between the deposed president and the Houthis representative to the National Dialogue Conference Abd Al-Wahid Abu Ras, Salih was coordinating with the Houthis. Clearly, the Houthis’ rejection of Bin Mubarak as a nominee for the position of prime minister in Yemen was only based upon the orders of deposed President Salih who appeared as if leading a counter revolution discreetly from behind the scene.

The telephone call goes back to October 2014, according to Al Jazeera. In the conversation, Salih accuses the sone of current president Abd Rabbuh Mansour Hadi of responsibility for a bombing that targeted the Houthis in Yemen. This is understood to imply a clear incitement from Salih to the Houthis against the President.

Salih also asked the Houthis to communicate with political, security and military leaders in Yemen that are loyal to him. This is seen as an additional proof of the coordination and prior arrangement in all fields between the Houthis and Salih.
