Support to the Palestinian budget decreases by 10% in 2014

The total external financial support received by the Palestinian government in 2014 declined by 9.9 per cent to reach $1.23 billion compared to $1.365 billion in 2013, the Anadolu Agency reported.

According to data from the Ministry of Finance, the general budget received $1.03 billion in external financial support while the development budget received $203.5 million.

The total Palestinian budget for 2014 amounted to nearly $4.21 billion: $3.860 billion for the general budget and $350 million for the development budget.

Arab support for the Palestinian budget amounted to nearly $410 million provided by Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Algeria, Oman and Egypt, while foreign support reached $823.1 million provided by the United States, France, Malaysia, the European Union, the World Bank and its affiliate organisations.
