Hamas: We view Egyptian court's decision positively

The Hamas movement has said that it views positively the verdict of the Cairo Court for Urgent Matters to reject the lawsuit that would seek to declare Hamas as a terrorist organisation.

Senior Hamas leader Ismail Radwan told the Al-Bayan Information Centre on Monday that this decision is a positive step toward bridging the movement’s relations with Egypt for the benefit of the Palestinian cause.

He stressed that Hamas is a Palestinian national liberation movement that resists the occupation and defends the dignity of the Arab and Muslim nation, and therefore should be supported by the Arab and Islamic world, Egypt included.

On Monday, the Cairo Court for Urgent Matters ruled to reject the lawsuit that called for classifying Hamas a “terrorist organisation,” citing a lack of jurisdiction.
