The Middle East Quartet’s Peace Envoy, Tony Blair, arrived in Cairo on Friday evening to discuss the Palestinian-Israeli peace process and the security situation across the region, Anadolu news agency has reported. This visit is his eighth in the past nine months.

On the previous visit in January, Blair met a number of Egyptian officials. Flying into Cairo from Kenya, the former British prime minister was received by officials from the Egyptian foreign ministry, anonymous sources told Anadolu.

Items on the agenda include Syria, Iraq and Yemen, as well as the possibility of a resumption of the Palestine-Israel peace talks. Blair is due to leave Cairo on Saturday evening.
