Following the execution-like murder of 21 Egyptian Copts in Libya by killers claiming to be linked to ISIS, the Tunisian government has called upon its citizens in the neighbouring country to be very wary in their daily affairs or consider returning home, Anadolu has reported.
“In the face of the dangerous escalation in Libya and in order to keep safe,” said the foreign ministry in a public statement, “Tunisian citizens in Libya have to be cautious when they move from place to place.” The ministry warned its citizens living in Libya to stay away from areas where there is tension or armed clashes. It also renewed calls for Tunisians to think very carefully before travelling to Libya, “unless it is absolutely necessary”.
According to the latest statistics, said Anadolu, there are around 70,000 Tunisians living in Libya.
