Israeli authorities last night released all five journalists from the Q-Press news agency who were detained from their office in Umm al Fahem yesterday morning. The five were Hikmat Niamat, Saher Azawi, Anas Ghuneim, Badr Mahajana and Badr Igbariya.
Hundreds of Israeli police and security forces personnel had raided the media centre’s office and confiscated its archives and several computers.
The move was widely condemned by media institutions who described the arbitrary destruction of equipment and furniture as unnecessary and high-handed.
