On Friday, the Palestinian resistance movement Hamas launched a social media campaign, #AskHamas, to reach out to the world. The campaign was launched given the imminent deadline for appeals against an EU court ruling that the movement should be taken off the EU’s list of “terrorist organisations”.
The campaign has however attracted an unprecedented number of trolls, spamming the feeds for #AskHamas.
Below are some of the best #AskHamas questions and comebacks.
But first, here is a statement from Palestinian Christian leader, Father Manuel Musallam, describing Hamas:

On Shujaiyeh & Operation ‘Protective Edge’
During last Summer’s Israeli attack on Gaza, the Shujaiyeh neighbourhood saw some of the most brutal shelling by the IDF.
Here is how the Israeli newspaper Haaretz described the events:
During the fighting in Shujaiyeh a week ago, the bloodiest battle of Operation Protective Edge on both sides, Hamas’ counterattack at Israeli soldiers was so fierce that the army ordered its troops to take cover in armored personnel carriers, then laid down extraordinary firepower only 100 meters away from them to save their lives.
Hamas and the local residents managed to kill 13 of the Israeli invaders, which led the IDF to pounding the neighbourhood with over 600 artilery shells and countless missiles from fighter jets, while IDF troops took shelter with armoured personal carriers.
Here are some of the best tweets on the topic:
