Congressman reveals how ISIS gets information about US soldiers

March 25, 2015 at 12:13 pm

A US Congressman revealed on Tuesday how ISIS uses simple methods to collect information about American soldiers before putting them on its “blacklist”.

Republication Peter King told CNN, that the US authorities have determined within the past 6 months how ISIS collects soldiers’ names, addresses and telephone numbers. “It is all done through social media,” he claimed.

As an example, he said that soldiers’ partners post on Facebook when the serviceman or woman is being posted to Afghanistan, or returning home.

King also pointed out that ISIS collects information from the media about veterans returning home, especially regarding their injuries and suchlike. “The internet is an open source for all kinds of information.”

With this going on, he added, while there is no need to worry about an organised ISIS bloc prepared to carry out attacks within the US, lone wolves are a concern. “The justice department has already warned Americans about this.”
