Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas and French President François Hollande are due to participate in an anti-terrorism march in Tunis on Sunday, the Tunisian presidential office confirmed on Wednesday.

Presidential Media Officer Aida Klibi told Anadolu agency that “both presidents have confirmed their participation in the planned march”.

Klibi pointed out that the Tunisian president would hold a Friday press briefing to announce the list of participants in the march.

Leading the march will be Tunisian President Beji Caid Essebsi and Prime Minister Habib Essid, Tunisian Parliament Speaker Mohamed Ennaceur told the press.

Tunisian Parliamentary Speaker Mohammed Nasser said that the Tunisian flag will be held by all participants during the march as a sign of strength and unity.

Last Wednesday, 23 people, including 19 foreign tourists were killed and 47 others were injured in an attack on the Bardo Museum adjacent to the Tunisian parliament in Tunis.

This is the first attack of its kind in the capital, and the second aimed at tourists since the April 2002 attack that targeted a synagogue in Medenine province in the south of the country.
