ERC calls on West to help revoke mass execution orders in Egypt

April 13, 2015 at 3:41 pm

The Egyptian Revolution Council (ERC) has today written an open letter to world governments urging them to intervene to revoke the mass execution orders of political opposition figures including the leader of the Muslim Brotherhood Dr Mohammed Badie.

The letter was addressed to governments from all over the world, but specifically Western governments. They noted that their silence is not only undermining the democratic rights of the people and the Muslim Brotherhood, but is also endorsing and perpetuating the violations of international law committed by the Sisi regime.

They noted that their silence is a message to Muslims globally that they are of the political other and they are not entitled to democratic rights. This will then feed the radicalisation of Muslims; which ironically is what the West is attempting to fight.
