Israeli settlers tour Al-Aqsa

Over the past year, hundreds of Israeli settlers have stormed the Al-Aqsa Mosque compound, taking tours of its grounds or to mark religious festivals. The settlers enter under the complete protection of the Israeli army and security forces.

This invasion is thought to be part of the Judaisation of Jerusalem and comes as a means to change the status quo at Islam’s third holy site. So far this year nearly 100 Palestinian women have been arrested by Israel, the vast majority while defending Al-Aqsa from the almost daily invasion of Israeli settlers.
