More than two thousand killed in US-led raids on Syria

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights has revealed that the air strikes launched by the US-led coalition in Syria have killed 2,079 people. The figure includes 66 civilians killed since the start of the air campaign against ISIS last September.

The British-based rights group said that most of those killed were fighters with the militant militia. The casualties, however, included 10 children, 6 women and 90 members of Al-Nusra Front, which is affiliated with Al-Qaeda.

The United States said that it is treating as serious the reports of civilian deaths and that there is a process in place to investigate all such allegations. According to the UN, around 220,000 people have been killed in Syria since the conflict started in 2011.
