Palestinian injured in Israeli raid on West Bank refugee camp

May 7, 2015 at 10:07 am

A young Palestinian man has been critically injured with live fire and another detained after Israeli forces raided a refugee camp in the West Bank city of Nablus, sources said today.

Rabie Mubarak, 22, was hospitalised with two gunshot wounds – one to the lung and another to the shoulder – during the Israeli raid on the camp in the early hours of this morning, a medical source told the Anadolu Agency.

Israeli forces raided Al-Faraa refugee camp at dawn and ransacked a number of Palestinian homes, eyewitnesses have said.

They added that Israeli forces detained a young man following brief clashes between Palestinian residents and Israeli forces.

Israeli forces routinely raid Palestinian homes in the occupied West Bank and detain local Palestinians, claiming the latter are “wanted” by Israeli security agencies.

Over 6,500 Palestinians are currently languishing in prisons throughout Israel, according to the Palestinian Ministry of Prisoners’ Affairs.
