Hamas: Israel is showing disregard for Egypt

May 11, 2015 at 8:22 am

The spokesman of the Islamic Resistance Movement Hamas, Husam Badran, asserted that the Israeli government is acting as a “gang”, and it is not committed to the agreements that it had signed.

In a written statement, Badran said Israel had recently re-arrested Palestinians freed under the Devotion of the Free agreement, which saw Palestinian prisoners released in exchange for Israeli soldier Gilad Shalit.

Badran said Israel’s behaviour showed a disregard for the efforts of the Egyptian mediator who sponsored the exchange deal.

He stressed Hamas’s commitment to working to free prisoners regardless of the price, noting that “these actions will not break the determination of our prisoners who trust the promise of the resistance and its ability to end their suffering.”
