Jordan’s Islamists warn their government against raising the price of bread

The Islamic Action Front party, the largest political party in Jordan, has warned against raising the price of bread in the country “under any pretext”.

In a statement issued on Wednesday 13 May, the Jordanian Islamist party demanded that the government release the results of the report on the murder of Judge Akram Zuaiter by Israeli soldiers to the Jordanian people. The Jordanian government announced that it had received the report from the Joint Jordanian-Israeli Committee about the killing of judge Zuaiter, but has so far kept the results from public knowledge.

Regarding the current surge of violence in universities and communities across the country, the Islamic Action Front pointed out that there has been much focus on the causes of this phenomenon, while the remedies provided are still below the required level.
