Iran executes 31 in a week

June 1, 2015 at 12:25 pm

Iran executed 31 people between 23 and 29 May, the National Council of Resistance in Iran (NCRI) said on Saturday. A number of the executions took place in public in the city of Mashhad, reported Alamatonline.com.

On 24 and 25 May, 22 prisoners were executed in Qazel Prison and one other was executed in Kohardisht Prison. It is claimed that the Iranian authorities have recently doubled the rate of public executions, lashings and torture against prisoners under the pretext of “vicious crimes, causing insecurity, stealing and drug smuggling”.

According to the opposition NCRI, however, the real source of the crimes and other bad deeds in the country is the “fascist, religious” government in Tehran. “The source of viciousness in Iran, the Middle East and wide swathes of the world is the religious fascism, without which the world would live in peace and calm,” the NCRI statement concluded.
