50 Hezbollah fighters and 2,100 foreigners killed in Syria in May alone

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights revealed on Monday that it has documented the deaths of 6,657 individuals in Syria during May 2015, including 51 Hezbollah fighters, 2,109 foreigners, 272 minors and 212 females, Arabi21 has reported.

The Observatory said that the deaths included military officers, fighters and civilians. In addition to the 51 Hezbollah fighters, a further 157 foreigners fighters were killed, most of them Shias.

According to documents obtained by the organisation, 1,568 deaths were registered among Assad regime forces and 674 from the popular committees, national defence forces and informants affiliated to the regime.

Regarding the reason of death, the Observatory said that “734 martyrs, including 148 children and 113 females” were killed in regime’s airstrikes. It also said that 45 citizens were tortured to death.

Meanwhile, 111 citizens, including 46 children and 16 females were killed by attacks of the Islamic Brigades and Al-Nusra Front. In addition, 75 citizens, 33 children and 14 females were killed in international anti-ISIS strikes.

The Observatory said that 159 individuals, including 14 children and 14 females were executed by ISIS during this period.
