Israel arrests Palestinian-American minor

Israeli forces yesterday arrested a 15-year old Palestinian-American boy in Silwad, near the West Bank city of Ramallah, the Anadolu Agency reported.

In a statement, Palestinian activist Shatha Hamid said Israeli forces arrested her relative Talib Hamid, 15, at a flash checkpoint at the entrance of Silwad.

She added that Talib’s mother said that the Israeli forces stopped the taxi he was in, asked him to step out of it, and then arrested him.

Talib was then transferred to the Israeli investigation centre called Mikhmas. He was then sent to Ofer Prison to appear before a military court this morning, his mother explained.

Anadolu could not reach Israeli officials for comment.
