UNRWA spokesman in Gaza Adnan Abu Hassana announced that the agency would be distributing $2 million to 556 families in Gaza.
In an interview with Al-Quds local radio this morning, Abu Hassana said that $1.7 million of the amount will go to those whose homes were destroyed during the latest war on Gaza last summer.
He said that some of the money will also be distributed in the form of $500 to each family towards rental subsidies, while $500 will be given to other families to buy household basics and necessities.
He said that the aid would be distributed to these families immediately, and that the beneficiaries will be contacted to inform them of the banks from which they will receive the aid. He mentioned that the funds reaching UNRWA are limited.
