Israel denies spying on nuclear talks with Iran

Israel has made an official denial that it spied on the talks held in Switzerland over the past few months between the G5+1 states (the US, Britain, France, Russia, China + Germany) and Iran with regards to Tehran’s nuclear programme. “The international reports of Israeli involvement in the matter are baseless,” Deputy Foreign Minister Tzipi Hotovely told Israel’s Army Radio.

Western media reports have recently discussed the prevalent belief that Tel Aviv spied on the talks by means of an advanced electronic virus planted in the computers in the hotels at which they were held. Hotovely denied this. “What is much more important is that we prevent a bad agreement where at the end of the day we find ourselves with an Iranian nuclear umbrella,” she insisted.

Israel has expressed its objection openly to the current version of the agreement. Its senior officials claim that “not reaching an agreement is better than reaching a bad one.”
