UAE academic and thinker Abdul-Khaleq Abdulla, the political advisor for Abu-Dhabi’s Crown Prince Mohamed bin-Zayed, expects the launch of a UAE-Qatari reconciliation initiative for Egypt in the near future, Almesryoon.com reported on Monday.

In an interview with Al-Araby Al-Yawm TV, Abdul-Khaleq said that the “UAE-Qatari relations passed with hard times during 2014, but today there is a kind of rapprochement and coherence.”

Abdul-Khaleq pointed out that “this could be used to solve many crises, mainly Egyptian reconciliation.”

He said that both the UAE and Qatar could have different visions regarding different issues, but noted that both sides are “essential” in the Egyptian issue and both are able to carry out an important role in a “compromise” in Egypt to enable it regain its safety and stability.
