July 21, 2015 at 9:33 am

Israel has made the move to re-incarcerate seven Palestinian prisoners released in a prisoner exchange deal in 2011, Palestinian Al-Resalah newspaper reported on Monday.

Fuad Al-Khuffash, an activist for prisoner rights and the director of the Ahrar Centre for for Prisoners and Human Rights, said that the Israeli occupation “illegally decided to re-incarcerate” the prisoners.

All the seven prisoners had previously been sentenced to life and had spent many years in prison before they were released in the 2011 deal between Hamas and Israel.

The seven prisoners were identified as Ashraf Abul-Rub, Mu’amar Al-Ja’bari, Khader Radi, Salman Abu-Seif, Rasmi Mahariq, Mohamed Iwewe and Mohamed Awad.

A total of 1,027 Palestinians were freed by the Israeli occupation under the terms of the 2011 swap with the Palestinian resistance movement.
