PA to crackdown on Palestinian resistance following settler attack

August 3, 2015 at 1:55 pm

The Palestinian Authority (PA) had pledged to crackdown on those who wish to retaliate for the murder of a Palestinian infant in an arson attack on his home last Friday, Palestinian newspaper Al-Resalah reported an official as saying yesterday.

Palestinian MP Fathi Al-Qarawi said that the PA had clearly threatened to escalate the detention campaigns which have been waged for months against Hamas members and supporters.

“The PA is practicing extreme violations, which are the worst since the establishment of the PA, against Palestinians,” he explained.

“The Palestinians in the West Bank are living under two occupations: the PA and Israel. Both of them are working together to deter any possible retaliation to the Israeli occupation’s crimes.”

Al-Qarawi said that the “safe and secure life” of the Israeli settlers and the Israeli troops is the result of the security and safety guarantees offered by the PA.

He criticised the silencing of a number of Palestinian media organisations and political factions in return for financial support.

Recently, the PA handed three illegal Israeli settlers over to Israel after they were captured infiltrating the occupied West Bank city of Jericho.
