Turkey arrests 15 Egyptian fishermen for entering territorial waters

Turkish Coast Guards arrested 15 Egyptian fishermen on Monday when they boarded two fishing boats off the coast of the Turkish city of Mersin. The fishermen were in Turkish territorial waters illegally, reported Anadolu news agency.

According to Anadolu, the fishermen were fined $37,000. The Turkish authorities confiscated 234 boxes filled with fish and fishing equipment.

The fishermen will be deported to Egypt once the necessary legal procedures are completed.
