Syrian group announces capture of Iranian officer

August 14, 2015 at 11:00 am

A Syrian military group revealed that its fighters have captured four foreign fighters, including an Iranian officer, a combatant thought to be affiliated with Lebanon’s Hezbollah, and two Afghan fighters.

A recording broadcast by the group which calls itself the Fajr Al-Tahreer Brigade, shows pictures of three individuals who the group says fell into the trap they had set for them along the old road that links Damascus and Dara’a, near the city of Al-Sanameen.

The armed group said that the trap was in response to the violation of the truce they reached with regime forces and the foreign militias affiliated with them in the city of Al-Sanameen.
