Islamic Jihad to end ceasefire if hunger-striker in Israeli jails dies

August 15, 2015 at 11:58 am

Palestinian resistance faction Islamic Jihad warned on Friday that it would end the ceasefire between Palestinian factions and Israel if its member Mohammed Allan dies, Quds Press reported.

Allan has been on hunger strike in Israeli jails for 58 consecutive days. He is protesting against his administrative detention.

A spokesman for Quds Brigades, the military wing of Islamic Jihad, stated: “Death of the hero Mohammed Allan is a crime against our prisoners and our people if he is martyred. If this happens, we will end the ceasefire and will strongly respond to it.”

The spokesman noted that Allan is experiencing serious health conditions in an Israeli hospital, having entered into a coma after two months of his strike.
