Sudanese President Omar al-Bashir arrived on Friday evening in Addis Ababa to participate in the summit of the Intergovernmental Authority on Development summit, which would discuss the crisis of South Sudan, an official Sudanese news agency reported.

IGAD had submitted a draft reconciliation agreement between Sudan and South Sudan on July 25 and said that South Sudan President Salva Kiir and his former deputy would arrive later on to sign a final agreement on August 17.

Negotiations between both sides resumed in the office of the African Economic Committee in Addis Ababa last Thursday, when a meeting was held to discuss the terms of the peace initiative mediated by IGAD.
