Forces loyal to Yemeni president prepare to liberate Hadramout from Al-Qaeda

Yemeni forces loyal to President Abd Rabbuh Mansur Hadi are preparing to liberate Hadramout from Al-Qaeda, a Russian news agency reported a military official saying.

According to masralarabia.com, which reported the Russian news agency, the commander of the forth governorate in Aden, Major General Ahmed Saif Al-Yafei, revealed details of the preparations.

Al-Yafei said Hadi appointed a new military leadership to the second military governorate in Hadramout in a bid to reposition Yemeni troops ahead of liberating Hadramout from Al-Qaeda.

Al-Qaeda took control of the coastal city of Al-Mukalla, the centre of the governorate of Hadramout in the east of the country, in April.
