Shireen Issawi begins hunger strike in solidarity with Allan

Palestinian prisoner Shireen Issawi has started an open hunger strike in solidarity with prisoner Mohammed Allan who slipped into a coma after being on hunger strike for more than two months.

“Issawi announced her hunger strike in solidarity with Allan last Friday,” the head of the Jerusalem detainees’ committee Amjad Abu Asab said.

Shireen is joining her brother Samer, a former long-term hunger striker, in solidarity with Allan and a group of prisoners languishing in Israel’s Gilboa Prison until their just demands are met.
