Yemeni Vice President and Prime Minister Khalid Bahah today met with leaders of the Islah Party in an effort to mend their relationship, the government’s official news agency Sabaa reported.

The Islah Party Supreme Committee Chairman Mohamed Al-Yadoomi and the party’s Secretary General Abdul-Wahab Al-Anisi and a number of party leaders attended the meeting.

Bahah stressed that the meeting comes at a time when Yemen has made a big stride in terms of dialogue and initiatives after all the constituents and forces took part in the dialogue conference and agreed on a joint formula.

He pointed out that the upcoming stage requires messages of reassurance for all not just in words.

During the meeting he stressed the important role the Islah Party has played in the country since its establishment in 1990.

He drew attention to the importance and sensitivity of the upcoming stage in Yemen, stressing that it requires unity, adding that managing peace is much harder than managing the war.

For their part, the leaders of the Islah Party expressed their appreciation of the meeting, stressing that the party is patriotic and seeks a partnership with all other parties in order to achieve security and stability in the country and that it seeks to exclude no one.

The leaders of the Islah also stressed their keenness to reinforce the state with all its civil and military institutions, for this is what guarantees the stability and the security of the country following the liberation of a number of regions and provinces.

Speaking during the meeting, Bahah pointed out that responsibility is mutual and that it should be shouldered by all parties. He added that there is no time for disputes and that all those concerned should focus on the common points and build upon them as well as come up with a comprehensive and fair national project that excludes no one and that is not monopolised by anyone whether a tribe, a region, a group or a party.
