Egyptian army kills 4 civilians in Sinai

At least four civilians were killed by the Egyptian army in the third day of military operation in Sinai, tribal sources told Al-Araby Al-Jadeed yesterday.

The Egyptian army announced late on Monday that it started an expanded military operation to face armed groups in Sinai.

According to the sources, who preferred not to be named, the army opened fire at civilians during the operation in the town of Sheikh Zuweid and Rafah city.

“Women were among the dead,” the sources said.

The operation has been targeting civilian houses and facilities for three days.
