Israel to Obama: West Bank, Golan Heights in return for Iran’s nuclear deal

September 14, 2015 at 1:58 pm

Official Israeli politicians and right wing officials have called for American President Barack Obama to accept the annexation of illegal Israeli settlements in the occupied West Bank in return for Israel’s consent on the Iranian nuclear deal, Arabi21 reported yesterday.

Politicians and officials consider the US’s adoption of Israel’s plans regarding its conflict with the Palestinians compensation for Israeli losses in the Iranian deal.

In an article published in Makor Rishon, an Israeli newspaper, Aria Kahana said: “The Israeli settlements [in the occupied West Bank] are considered one of the main constructions to secure the strategic Israeli depth. This needs the American administration to clearly and candidly adopt Israeli annexation to them.”

Kahana also called on the Israeli prime minister to request a written pledge from Obama that he would never recognise a Palestinian state and to would turn a blind eye to settlement construction in the occupied west Bank and Jerusalem.

A number of Israeli ministers have been calling for the adoption of a bill that includes annexation of more than 60 per cent of the occupied territories.

Regarding the Golan Heights, the Israeli minister said the US should adopt Israel’s view on the area and the solution to the Syrian crisis.

Arabi21 reported that the minster wrote on Twitter: “The United States and the West must recognise Israeli annexation of the Golan Heights, stressing this represents a proof on the seriousness of the US president towards understanding Israeli fears.”

Israeli Education Minsiter Naftali Bennett also called for the US to accept the Israeli annexation of the Golan Heights.
