Yemeni government back in Aden after 5 months in Riyadh

The Yemeni government resumed working in Aden yesterday after operating temporarily from the Saudi Arabian capital Riyadh since March.

A senior government source told the Anadolu Agency on condition of anonymity that the government delegation, chaired by Prime Minister Khaled Bahah, left Riyadh early yesterday.

The source also revealed that the delegation that left Riyadh was composed of Interior Minister Abdou Mohamed Al-Hudhaifi, Communications Minister Lutfi Baharif, Planning and International Cooperation Minister Mohammed Al-Maitami, Expatriates Affairs Minister Alawi Ba-fakih, and Social Affairs Minister Samira Abed.

The delegation that returned to Aden also includes government spokesman Rajah Paddy, Deputy Minister of Finance Hussam Al-Sharjabi, Deputy Oil Minister Ahmad Basrih, and Foreign Ministry Undersecretary Yassin Abdullah.

Transport Minister Badr Ba-Salma, Local Administration Minister Abdul-Raqib Fath, Fisheries Minister Fahad Kefayen, Public Works and Highways Minister Wahy Aman, are due to reside in Aden, the “temporary capital” for Yemen announced by President Abd Rabbuh Mansur Hadi.

On Monday, Hadi conducted a cabinet reshuffle replacing the ministries of oil, youth and sports, and health and population. The three new ministers will join their colleagues later after taking the oath of office.
