Calls on Palestinians to stand up against Israeli settlers at Al-Aqsa

September 28, 2015 at 10:01 am

Deputy Chief of the Islamic Movement in Israel Sheikh Kamal Al-Khatib yesterday called on Palestinians and Arabs to head for Al-Aqsa Mosque to undermine the plans of Israeli settlers attempting to desecrate the holy site, the Anadolu Agency reported.

Speaking to Anadolu, Al-Khatib said: “The extremist right wing societies called on Jews to rally in order to break into Al-Aqsa Mosque. We, as Islamic and Arab leaders, call on our people to rally inside Al-Aqsa Mosque.”

He continued: “This call is to make the Israeli institution sure that Al-Aqsa Mosque is a red line and it cannot touch it through the extremist groups which it supports.”

According to Al-Khatib, the silence of the Arab governments “encourages” the Israeli occupation to carry on implementing its “dangerous plan” regarding the Judaisation of Al-Aqsa Mosque.

He called on the Arab and Muslim nations to put the issue of Al-Aqsa and the Palestinian cause on top of their agendas during this “sensitive stage”.

Describing the situation around the holy site, he said: “There is high tension in light of the provocation of the Israeli police and the desecration of the Islamic holy site.”

“We are afraid that the situation on the ground will erupt if Israeli police allow settlers to break into Al-Aqsa’s courtyards.”

Israeli occupation forces closed the mosque during the fourth day of Eid Al-Adha and fired tear gas at the Muslim worshipers inside it.

Last week witnessed daily Israeli attacks on the mosque, while settlers stormed its courtyards on a daily basis.
