Ennahda denies asking Iran to mediate between Tunisia and Syria

September 29, 2015 at 1:38 pm

Spokesman of the Tunisian Islamist movement Ennahda Osama Al-Saghir denied that his movement had asked Iran to mediate with the Syrian regime regarding the Tunisian detainees in Syria, Rassd.com reported yesterday.

In a statement posted on the movement’s official Facebook page, Al-Saghir said that all information about such mediation is false.

“The movement has never asked Iran to mediate with any regime and it does not seek Iran’s help to close the file of the Tunisians arrested by the Syrian regime,” the statement said.

He also said that Ennahda is following up on this issue with the Ministry of foreign Affairs.

Al-Saghir added that his movement believes that solving such issues is the work of the Tunisian diplomatic mission which is represented by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
